With a clientele base that extends all over the world, Steven Deer Salon is an upscale yet down to earth place to be for EXCELLENCE when it comes to hair!

Steven Deer’s Bio

I took an interest in women’s haircuts and styles while working part-time at a salon when I was 16 years old. The details of the cuts and style were on point. I had a natural talent for art but had thought I would become a jazz musician or pilot.

When those dreams of performing and flying an airplane didn’t come to pass, my grandmother who we called “baba” suggested I attend beauty school. She told me that we had a relative in the 1800’s who was a merchant and a barber.

My mind was made up — I wanted to be a stylist — my interest was sparked by my part-time job and it was part of my family legacy.

Then, I saw the geometric cuts sculpted by Vidal Sassoon. I wanted to model myself after his style, from how he cut hair to how he dressed. I visualized doing all of those geometric styles and enhancing the beauty of every women that graced my threshold.

I enrolled at John Amico’s school of hair design. I was a full-time student of Cosmetology and soon after entering beauty school, it was evident I had the skill for cutting, coloring and styling hair for men and women. My natural abilities were lying dormant and magnified in beauty school.

Years later, I opened Steven Deer Salon, nestled in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.

We are committed to catering to each guest who walks into the salon, bringing their hair to life.

Our level of service is of the highest quality, and we train our staff members to offer our customers more than a visit to a salon but a salon experience.

Our goal is to create a serene ambiance and atmosphere for our customers.

Our products are made of natural ingredients, free of harsh chemicals and substances.

We pride ourselves on helping you discover your authentic self through our initial consultation and throughout the time you are in the salon for all of your services.
